淀粉機結構簡單，使用方便，運轉平穩，生產率高，維修便利。能夠一次完成鮮薯的粗破碎、細磨漿、漿渣分離三道工序，能夠重復利用漿液，減少了淀粉生產過程中的廢水。
紅薯淀粉分離機改變了手工生產淀粉時因氧化造成的淀粉光彩變差、變暗的現象;加工過程中被破碎打垮的粉渣在顯微鏡下呈絲狀，有利于淀粉從纖維上游離出來，因此進一步提高了淀粉的提取率。  
薯類制粉設備主要由螺旋清洗機、刨碎分離機、磨漿分離機、渣漿分離組合篩和攪拌機等單機組合而成，特別適合于鄉鎮企業和戶用于馬鈴薯和甘薯等薯類淀粉的加工。
