開敞式蓄水池池體由池底和池墻兩部分組成,它多是季節性蓄水池,不具備防凍、防蒸發功效。根據地理位置的需求在設計圓形或方形的蓄水池模具,但圓形池結構受力條件好,在相同蓄水量條件下所用建筑材料較省,投資較少。封閉式蓄水池池體大部分設在地面以下,它增加了防凍保溫功效,保溫防凍層厚度設計要根據當地氣候情況和*大動土層深度確定,以保證池水不發生結冰和凍脹破壞,封閉式蓄水池結構復雜,投資比開敞式蓄水池多。
